For Karachi ISPs

ISP Billing Software in Karachi

Karachi is where many of Pakistan’s smallest and busiest internet providers work: neighbourhood ISPs and cable operators serving apartment blocks, lanes and whole localities, often with a handful of staff. Collecting from hundreds of households across a city this size is the hard part of the business, and it is what myisphub is designed to make easier. The myisphub team is based in Karachi too.

What running an ISP in Karachi looks like

A typical neighbourhood ISP has one owner or manager, an accountant, a few installers and one or more recovery officers. Subscribers are spread across many lanes and buildings, and a lot of the collection still happens in person. When records live in a register, three things go wrong: it is slow to find one customer, nobody can say quickly who has paid this month, and it is hard to tell what each recovery officer collected.

myisphub puts every subscriber, bill and payment in one place that the owner, accountant and recovery officers can all use from their own login.

Set up your Karachi areas and zones

In myisphub you create areas, and inside them zones that you draw on a map. Each zone can be given an installer and a recovery officer, so staff only work in their own part of the city and two people do not collect from the same street.

For example, an ISP serving the east side might create areas such as these, then split each into zones:

  • Malir, Landhi and Korangi
  • Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Gulistan-e-Johar
  • North Nazimabad and Orangi Town
  • Saddar and DHA

Use the names your own customers and staff use. When a recovery officer opens the panel, they see their zone and the bills still open in it. Read more about live field staff tracking.

Collecting cash, JazzCash and EasyPaisa

Subscribers in Karachi pay in the way that suits them: cash to the recovery officer, a JazzCash or EasyPaisa transfer, or a bank deposit. In myisphub every payment is recorded with its method and the name of the person who collected it. When a subscriber sends a screenshot or transaction ID, the accountant checks it and then applies it to the bill, so nothing is counted twice.

Bills show the current month and any previous dues separately, so a subscriber who paid part last month sees clearly what is old and what is new. A receipt can be shared on WhatsApp straight from the app or printed on a small thermal printer. For a practical routine, read how to recover unpaid dues from ISP subscribers.

A Karachi example: Clickonline in Malir

Clickonline, an internet provider in Malir, Karachi, uses myisphub for its subscribers. In their own words, before myisphub they wrote every record in a register: each customer who renewed by cash or by phone call was written down, and because a customer comes only once a month the entries were not in order, so finding a record was hard. Now each customer’s record, bill and payment is in one place.

Roles for your whole team

  • The owner sees everything: subscribers, bills, collections, expenses and staff.
  • The accountant manages billing and verifies payments.
  • Recovery officers see only the bills they need to collect and the payments they recorded.
  • Installers see their assigned installations and complaints.
  • Support staff handle complaints.
